
We have had Gustavo Crespi as the speaker for our July session. Gustavo is a Lead Specialist in the Competitiveness and Innovation Division in the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). He also served as Senior Program Officer at the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) of Canada. His interests include Industrial Development, Technological Change, Industrial Structure and Development of the Firm and Management and Technology Policy Evaluation, especially in developing countries. He has written and published numerous articles on those topics in journals such as World Development, Research Policy, Industrial and Corporate Change, Journal of Technology Transfer, Oxford Review of Economic Policy, Technovation, Small Business Economics, among others.
Gustavo shared some insights about institutional capacity based on his experience as a lead specialist in the IDB. His talk is titled "Building Institutional Capacity for Science, Technology, and Innovation Policy in Latin America. Some Lessons from the IDB’s Experience".
