There exist particular characteristics of the Scientific, Technological and Innovation Policy that require the application of assessment tools different to those used for other public policies. In order to analyze the different evaluation approaches, as well as the methodologies and indicators used internationally to evaluate programs for Scientific, Technological and Innovation, the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT) and the Scientific Advisory Forum and Technology (FCCyT) organized a symposium titled «Evaluation of Policies on Science, Technology and Innovation».

A group of experts from various international organizations (Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the OECD among others) were invited to present the most relevant international experience on the topic. Additionally, the symposium gathered a number of national experts to foster the dialogue on lessons learned in Mexico.
